Anyone from the old Edot forums still around?

This is the place to discuss Salvia divinorum, splendins, and the other psychoactive salvias.

I can elaborate a little bit. Back sometime in 2011 edot suddenly went offline. The old owner just stopped paying for hosting. Due to the efforts of a few members we were able to backup the old forum and integrate it into the new one. Since then traffic has been kinda low, but I'm loathe to just let this place go. I was a bit down last year around the time the site was up for renewal and made a post about letting it die, or transferring ownership to someone else, but aqualung stepped in and donated enough to cover another year of hosting. At this time, other than making sure the forums stay spam free, I'm just leaving it pretty much as is. I'm glad new people are still finding their way here, and plan on leaving it up for the foreseeable future.

Thank you for carrying the torch. I'm optimistic with the new traffic lately.

As an old reader of the very old version of the forum, don't hesitate to ask if you need some help !

just had to re-register (old email addy is lost), been awhile.

the destruction of the ultimate pic thread was emotionally devastating for me :/

i think that signified the very quick downfall of the forum, with the behind the scenes drama. shame, i remember it being people that really had nothing to do with the content of the site but somehow had vip access somehow? fwir, it was petty drama and was really sad.

still glad to see SOME activity on the new forum.

yeah it seems things like that happen in cycles. Something cool is built, it attracts attention. Some of that attention is from ne'er do wells who want to burn it down, and procede to. Most go a few hardcore keep the lights on until new folks find what was built and the old folks find their wat home. Then the cycle repeats with new people and new faces burning and rebuilding.

Yes the activity is inspiring optimism. Flapjack and I have a thread going on in politically incorrect and I would love your input.

Also Thank you cowfodder for keeping the lights on for us.

I'm still around as well :D

I was active on the old Edot from 2005, and in 2011 helped cowfodder to migrate the forum messages, basically scraping them one by one from the old website which was still accessible with its IP numerical address.

Nowdays I'm checking only from time to time, but I'm still here

hahah... khanx here. .

I'm not sure if this was my nickname, or if it was "kaanixir" or raa

I remember most of the names you listed, burningmouth with his crazy trips, pm'ing akashicrecord about tarot cards and linking incredible things together.

Incredible, incredible stuff.

Some of the most meaningful moments were interpreted here, we all share the same excitement.

After years- I felt the overwhelming urge to just suddenly pop in here again to see if it's still up and going. I wish we could somehow meet and bring the old excitement back.

Bring us back !

edit: After all those years I'm still logged in ? wtf

(initiate retinal/sentient upload)
............ whirling, spinning, gyrating. What's up with all these squirming nerve cables connected to cocoon chambers inside this FUCKINGLY HUGE, wheel-like, technicolor cyclone rotating inside my brain? Who ARE all these npc peoploids transforming in real time into algorithmic sets of doppelgangers careening off into hyperspace? Why are they all struggling to find their original place in this never-ending series of parallel worlds? Is some off-world impostor(s) trying to shove himself(themselves) into our rightful, preordained, human-shaped mold(s) in this network of self-transforming, grinning, gingerbread men(women)???

Am I even REAL anymore? Flash to 2020. I'm donning a SALVIA MASK! The skies are turning ORANGE! Dazed, battle-scarred humanoids are walking around zZombified, waiting for the next big crisis in a seemingly never ending series of ongoing crises. Is the Simulator-in-Chief planning some sort of major firmware upgrade? Terence McKenna and Art Bell died too soon. The "Quickening"? The "Transcendental Object at the End of Time"?

Greetings, brothers and sisters. This is burningmouth.
I took down my blog for some lame reason. It didn't reach the crescendo I had hoped for. The crescendo being a contact between physical earth people and hyperspatial salvia beings; a meeting witnessed by public observers here in the physical universe -- not merely in our own private hallucinations. But it sure looks like SOMEthing is about to go down. Chiclet craft from outer space? Salvia people fractaling through our world like pulsating, black centipedes?

One thing I learned from my experiences is that if there IS contact from an off-world source, it will probably arrive interdimensionally, i.e., from seemingly right next to us as opposed to from another galaxy.

Also, my visuals were for the most part very 'speeded up'. Everything in the visuals propagated and morphed quickly. Stasis was not the norm. This fits what I've learned from Buddhism where stasis is an illusion, and all activity/phenomena are mere instantaneous reactions to (empty) dependent conditions. Indeed, salvia hallucinations might be a creative reflection of the fake structure of our shared physical universe. Maybe what we take for granted as real is actually fake, and salvia shows us the forgery of our everyday, waking state.

I smoked 10x to 20x salvia twice a week from 2008 through 2012. It probably damaged my brain (ocular migraines), but at least I saw visuals that no sci fi movie or special effects artist has ever captured to this day.

I'm still going strong. You guys were/are a significant part of my life.

Gotta go. Some transparent hand just appeared in front of my blood-stained eyeballs beckoning/ordering me to get back from whence I came. (sound familiar?)

I'm not sure if you can contact me. I think I'm someone else.

Dioxippus/Metanoian --- I tried PMing you, but I don't think it went through.

Before EDOT went down, I saved most of my threads in the old EDOT site display/format. It keeps the memories alive.

Later, salvia brothers and sisters. 8-)
