The cat says this stuff grows like crazy. He leaves town for a few weeks and comes back to a plant that's filled out entirely.
Images are of fresh, then dried.

Re: First Grow, First Grow thread -
Again, A long disappearance. Life gets in the way of the cat's gardening exploits, so his plant's just grow while he ignores them. No pictures again, but the plants are alive and healthy. The original plant, which is the same plant this thread was started with had to be trimmed down immensely to make it small enough to keep it inside for the winter.
When trimming the excess stalks off the plant the cat noticed that the stalks that are now 1+ year old have grown to be incredibly woody, so much that a standard pair of scissors was insufficient to cut them and he had to track down some high quality pruning shears. After the cat finally manged to cut one it appeared that the 1/2" across stalk had a thin layer of living tissue across the surface and then was entirely woody down to a very small (paperclip size) central hollow. The plant was growing happily throughout and above this wooded stalk.
Does anyone know if SWIY's plants have demonstrated the same characteristic? Or if this is due to the conditions that the cat's plants are growing in?

Wood gives strength...they grow to 13 feet....or larger.
Re: First Grow, First Grow thread -
The cat could only hope. The growing season for the cat is only about 4 months, and his space inside limits them to about 3 feet tall. Someday the cat hopes to live somewhere warm and wet year around, then maybe his garden could grow to be that tall.
