Some confusion on whether your actual GPS coordinates are viewable using tapatalk ( in particular) or smart phones (in general) to post on forums.
Asked tapatalk and their answer was an equivocating 'well, people can get your IP address either way, so..."
Even though IP =\= Specific GPS coordinate.
Anyways, something to consider as we barrel down the paranoid hiway of hitech hijinx.

There's some on-going discussion of location security on the Tapatalk user forums:
https://support.tapatalk.com/threads/ca ... ion.22103/
The view there is that the Tapatalk app doesnt have permissions set to read location info on android devices. I can confirm that the app doesnt have permission to read location on my phone. Other browsers must ask before passing this info on too.
The tapatalk privacy statement says the app can share your IP address with the Tapatalk company and that they promise to anonymise this and use it only for statistical purposes. If this worries you the user should use a proxy service like Tor and avoid the app on unrooted android phones.
