Registration Error

Post by Kaktos » Mon Feb 10, 2014 1:42 am

I attempted to register in order to use a new username. I just thought I should let the web-admin/s know I get the following error:

General Error
Could not open socket
Please notify the board administrator or webmaster: webmaster@entheogen-network.com

That also leads me to the question, could I possibly get my user-name changed? I want to become a frequent poster after idling for a long period of time.

Thanks,
tsv

I wrote the admin--I hope isn't something serious.

As for changing username, I think that can be done manually by an administrator.

Through some googling I may have found the culprit. It appears to be a reCaptcha issue caused by our host blocking certain ports. I'll have to check it out and see what I come up with.

Yup, reCaptcha error. I switched anti-spambot method and registration is possible again.

Ok thanks! I have to look for the better spamtrap we talked about some time ago. We still have 10-20 spam successful registrations per day, and I don't want to think what would happen if they all started to post at once.

They still try to post. I added a bunch of things to the spam word list and none of their posts get through. Still, the new trap would be a good idea.
