Letting the site die

Post by cowfodder » Wed Nov 20, 2019 8:07 pm

So, after many years of administering this site, and paying most of the cost out of pocket, I've decided I'm just going to let it die. Most of the new signups are spam, and I haven't seen a new topic or any discussion in over a month. If anyone wants to take things over let me know and I'll just transfer ownership. The hosting bill for the next year is due, and it's $120. The domain is renewed for another 10+ months. It's been a pleasure being with you fine folks going back to the old edot.

I only just rediscovered where Edot's been hiding :-) if it's a cash issue I'd be glad to help. As for taking ownership, I'm not so great with all the interwebs and tubes and stuff.

Holy shit dude, thank you! It was partly cash, and partly feeling like nobody was using the site anymore. I may have been a bit down about some other things when I made this post too, so that could have colored how I was feeling. I'm making the payment now, and I'm going to have to rethink how I'm handling the site.

no sweat man. this place meant a lot to me way back in the early days. Been retired/burnt out from the entheogen scene for a while but my interest has come back round. Planning on getting my collection started again, and trying my hand at plant tissue culture. would be willing to donate specimens/money too for raffles. Perhaps a patreon to put back into things like give aways for contributions etc. and a little to reward you for your efforts. Profit isn't necessarily an ugly word.

Working on an experiment for selective agar with lions mane. will post a write up here as I go.

Still here...what does this mean?

Social media is dying. People want interaction. Forums are popping back up and... Apps like telegram and discord are taking over.

What say you all? Randy a go at it again? Edot2020 Revival?

I believe the rent is paid for another year, so we have another year to see if we can revive it. I'm up for it. I try to check in a few times a week, and respond to posts to keep things active. Been meaning to update, my selective media post, and hope to possibly experiment a bit with plant tissue culture.

Yeah, everything is paid for another year. The biggest issue is that I just have a lot of time to deal with site stuff anymore. I try to keep everything up to date and spammer free, but that's about all I can do right now.

I just found this site, I have a indoor greenhouse that I just put together with humidity intake and powerful bathroom ceiling vent put down low a hepa filter up top and at the moment I have several like four strains of cubes and one strain of pan cyan Estero all consolidating waiting to switch the chamber into its intended fruiting mode,.

I am a regular over at Mycotopia.net but thing is I am interested in much more than just the little saints, (shrooms) and want to find a place where there are ppl of a like mind and whatnot,. Miss human interaction, getting interested in cactus, have done a few extractions with acacia and some other stuffs,.

I am going to make a write up on my grow chamber in mush room and hopefully some other people will join in?

I don’t wanna see this place go really, it does look a bit dead, how many people are here usually?

Thank you very much cowfodder for all the work done ! I think it will be very sad that let the site dying, even if the activity is really slow. Obviously, the psychonautic scene is really down actually because web and social media are changing but all the posts are a big source of information of great quality, please keep all the site !!! It still can be helpful for all the newbies !
