Barred from Informing Oneself -

Post by Farenx » Sat Dec 02, 2006 1:47 am

Goddamnit guys it's great to finally come back to this wonderful place!

Recently I have moved to a resort town in the middle of the rockies for a job and haven't had any access to the internet. I've learned a few new things as well and am all the better for it. First off is my acute rant on being unable to inform myself about anything my curious mind desires, the following is the story.

Alright so the only access I have to the net is through a local library. However when I attempted to visit our humble community the program they have filtered it out and refused me due to content of "illegal drugs". This was an outrage. Honestly my right to information has been undermined by the institution which holds free information to be one of the pinical points of an advanced civilization. This is etched into fucking stone on the outside wall of the building!

What's more is that whilst surfing some teenagers came in and the librarian escorted them out to use the teen computers elsewhere and explained that the computers in the room are for adults. So why then am I unable to look at adult content, whatever it may be since children are not allowed in the area?

This has to be the most hypocritical example of our times (besides the government) that I have seen. The most basic freedom of a right to knowledge taken away. I plan on writing a letter to the head of the library and voicing my opinion. I have no doubt it would block any site that I would wish that concerns illegal substances. They create society's realty enough with the news and T.V. (the worst synthetic drug ever man could ever create!) in my opinion. What's worse is that these are PUBLIC computers, the public is in this situation. Though I am sure this is merely an small part in the bigger picture of things.
It only gets worse when the town is well known for having pretty much any commob drug you could want. Fucking rich yuppies:evil:

Alright enough of my rant, I shall only have to leave again to return at some later date in order to harvest power. Goddamnit.

Though I don't have a T.V. either and have become throughly convinced that it is something I could do without. What's sad is that there is an habituated addiction associated with it. I found myself with nothing to do and desired to watch T.V. Sure there are things to be gained from it, the channels that are truly informative, discovery, national geographic etc. But that is the result of any bad drug. There's the good high and the bad long term outcome. I cannot tell you how stupid Fox News was. Talking about the psychological behavior of killer whales in captivity from a human perspective. They are on a different though no less level on the whole conciousness continum. TOOL-VICARIOUS.
It's absurd to claim we understand them to the fact.

I just want to FEED my BRAIN.

Welcome back!

"Don't look at me like
I am a monster
Frown out your one face
But with the other
Stare like a junkie
Into the TV
Stare like a zombie"

I actually remember when the Iraq war first started, those 21-days of "freedom giving", some of my buddies from back home would get obsessed with watching the news, and the war-coverage.

Like every day they would be tuning in for several hours watching the war.

Pretty sick you know... Human's seem to thrive on the sufering of others. Perhaps that giant asterioid needs to hurry up and get here...
