EDOT INK: show us yer tattoos -

Post by catfish » Thu Sep 20, 2007 11:23 am

heres my left deltoid:
Image
before getting it colored
ill post the after pic later on today
my tattoo to me
represents the four elements plus the spirit
the five points of the star with
spirit on the top
the circle represents unity in those five
distinctions and that they are all interrelated
hence the over under celtic knotwork pattern

this pic really doesnt do it justice
the subtle colorings the black greens and fading into yellow and white
i plan to put the ourobos (sp)
the serpent holding/consuming its own tail
in a circle around the pentagram
prolly in a reddish orange

I plan on getting this on the lateral side of my deltoid. Just haven't found a local place that makes me feel confident about their work. I might just wait until Christmas break when I go home because theres this really really good tattoo shop downtown.

No colors, that way touchups are easier and it lasts looking good. Maybe I might get the flowers colored in, but not the bull.

White represents purity/empiricism, and the yellow? Some relation to spirit, or sun?

Just finishing up a sleeve myself. Well most of a sleeve anyway. From my wrist up to about mid bicep currently. Waiting to heal all the way before color. I'll post some pics when its done...although, I'm pretty shitty when it comes to following through with that particular statement haha.

Love tatts!
Have one...no...cant show ya!

Mine is a phoenix. Its about 6 or 7 years old. I need to get it spruced up...not quite right yet!

Ferdie! Nice!
The very first thought that came to my mind when they put that needle to me was "4th of July sparklers"...the image popped right into my head as they started the outline. Ya remember those? When they would get too close to the end and one of the sparks would land on your arm and give you a little "zap"...well...that is what it felt like to me (only multiply the frequency of the zap!).

I remember freaking out when I was healing 'cause no one told me about the peeling image thing...thought my tatt was going to fade or be splotchy!

Watch out for the shading...oochie...overandoverandover the same spot...it will test your resolve a little!

Sweet Pentagram Catfish AkA Bottom feeder. I have a 2x3" tat right over my heart. Its of my family coat of arms it has an older looking ship and a sword on the upper half. Also the bottom half is yellow and upper half is blue.

very nice work, cat. the snake would be a cool addition.

ferd - if you want to go monochrome, maybe you should just DIY prison style.

i'm a blank slate as of yet. ink ideas have been bouncin' in my head this past year, though.
