Mirabilis Multiflora extract -

Post by zakmalados » Mon May 12, 2003 8:15 pm

Swim just recently purchased some 30-1 extract of Mirabilis Multiflora.

Has anybody ever experienced any sort of effect from this concentrate, or the plant itself? How is it best used? The Yaqi, apparently, chewed the roots, but to date neither 100 mg sublingually or the same swallowed had any noticeable effect on the subject.

Anyone know anything about this stuff?

average dose of the extract should be 1000mg.
large mammal experients have proven this to be effective.

Hopi medicine men chew the roots for a relaxed state and if they do it long enough, for a religious or divination experience.

They have to be Mirabilis Multiflora (Colorado 4 o' clock) because there is a poisonous relative. I think it is mirabilis stipticus or something like that.

I don't think that the active chemical has been isolated, but I would be interested to see a chromatography run. The ones for the mytragyna speciosa supposed acetate extract was interesting.

The four o'clocks on the farm are bushy and leafy, and come in yellow, white, pink and red flower versions, but they don't open at four 0'clock like the name suggests, but rather at nightfall. Are these a different variety than Colorado four o'clocks?

Damn, JD, you be a wealth of information. Thanks.

Domestic Four-O'-Clock, otherwise known as Mirabilis Jalapa, is famous for making people puke. Botanicals.com (check it out; all about medicinal plants) even lists Jalapa as a medical purgative.

Mirabilis Multiflora is sometimes called "desert four-o-clock". Also see "Growing the Hallucinogens" for more info on telling them apart.

The remaining apx. 800 mg of extract that SWIM had did apx. nothing.

I will be doing some "for science" bioassays of this plant properly prepared with the help of a local hopi man in a few weeks.

Here is the link to my thread on bluelight on the subject with a bit of useful info>
