On fresh air and windows during fruiting.

This is the place to discuss shrooms of all types, how they are grown, their properties, etc.

On fresh air and windows during fruiting.

Does anyone really air out their fruiting area between flushes?

By this I mean running a fan or in other ways completely exchanging all the stale air of the closet or workspace with fresh air from outside. As the cakes, trays or bulk tubs are fully colonized I don't think contamination would be too great a risk, and maybe the mycelium would benefit from fresh outdoor air, as in nature.

Seems to me, every time you open and close the door to a small room, you have an exchange. I never make an effort to do a special exchange. If everything is working fine, leave it alone. slp/fmrc

I've done this a few times and it seems to be working fine for me, so...guess I'll continue.
