Bridgesi monstrose clone A and B differences? -

Post by golden » Sat Jun 06, 2009 9:16 pm

Just ordered a single Penis Plant from Sacred Succulents and they were offering a clone "A" and a clone "B". Does anyone know what the difference is, I didn't bother asking before I ordered..............and I didn't specify, just said "send what ever is available, or your choice", so I knew I'd definitely get one.:D

I've heard some people say they are different forms of the same plant.

However one branches more and the other grows upward more.

I believe B clone is the one that's more branchy - correct me if I'm wrong ;)

Also, I believe all Monstrose on the market are clones. How they mutated, I don't know if it was a genetic mutation or was aided by some sort of chemical or what not, but it's truly amazing seeing a standard bridge and a monstrose side by side, knowing they are mostly the same.

The Monstrose (according to some is better in some ways ;) ]

however it does grow slower and puts on much less mass with less speed.

just received my "penis plant" and was wondering how to care for it. Can't seem to find anything out there that tells me what I should do for care.
BTW, nice size specimen and in very nice shape:lol:

There are a number of "monstrose" clones of various Trichocereus on the market including a "semi-monstrose" T. bridgesiis from Lotusland (now defunct?)...

Clone A and Clone B are fairly the same in potency, both being strong.

Pandora, Thanks for that well-referenced report.

I've heard both that they are very potent and not as potent.

Based upon taste alone, I would guess they are potent, but many variables exist.

Also, the exhibit a large amount of green flesh in most of the specimen I've taken cross-sections of.
