Astrophytum spp. activity -

Post by mutant » Mon Apr 28, 2008 10:09 am

I recently was suggested that some Astrophytum, like, say myriostigma species which is commercially sold has interesting alkaloids. I found some discussion in the archive here.

I was wondering if someone has done any bioessay on this species or knows anything lese, more recent or something...

Here are some links I dug up yesterday....

LOL.

Been down that road, buddy...

There's a whole huge list of potential medinical/psychoactive/entheogenic cacti...

There are almost ZERO reports.

The only way to find out is to eat one...

I've made threads about it here, on the corrobree and the shroomery...

Search "Teotzlcoatl" or "Lost Peyotes" or "False Peyotes"...

People kinda get mad sometimes... Ignore that please.

I was a FOOL in my younger days and some people find it hard to forgive and forget.

I will state this again as I have many times...

I will provide plant material for bioassy if anybody is willing to attempt an ingestion and write a full report.

A friend of mine will soon be testing the powers of Strombocactus disciformis... I had one of these beautiful little guys... but he didn't make it through the winter... So instead of tossin' the cactus, I shall have a friend eat it...

I doubt one small cactus will do anything... but we shall see...

O B.T.W. smoking Ariocarpus tubercles works!

Me and my buddy refered to it as "gettin' tubered"...

One smoked tubercle gave a feeling of relaxation, sedation and pain (headache) relief as well as a very strange "trippy" feeling...

Everybody let's get tubered!

J.k..... unless you kill one of your ariocarpus cacti by accident.... then it's ok.
