Cacti and pure mescaline

Postby Neptuneblue » Fri Jul 07, 2017 11:32 pm

Just wondering how experiences with cacti juice, pure mescaline extracted from cacti, and synthetic mescaline compare.

Obviously pure mescaline is less nauseating then cacti, but is the experience less profound?

I know cacti contain a number of other psychoactive alkaloids, other then mescaline. Is something lost in the pure mescaline experience by these other alkaloids not being present?

Are you still interested in this subject? This is an older thread and I'm not willing to take the time to write out a response unless its going to help someone. I have some good insight here.

Can anyone explain what the differences are between some cacti and pure mescaline?

Lophophora cacti which contain mescaline also contain: tyramine, N-methyltyramine, hordenine, candicine, anhalamine, lophophorine, pellotine, O-methyl-pellotine, N,N-dimethyl-3-methoxytyramine, dopamine, epinine, 3-methoxytyramine, N-methyl-mescaline, N-formylmescaline, N-acetylmescaline, N-formylanhalamine, N-acetylanahalamine, isoanhalamine, anhalinine, anhalidine, anhalotine, isoanhaladine and anhalonidine.

While not all of these compounds are active, they can affect the experience produced.

Pure mescaline is simply 3,4,5-trimethoxy-phenethylamine.

Total alkaloid extracts contain these other alkaloids, while a mescaline extract will contain only 3,4,5-trimethoxy-phenethylamine.

When dealing with the salts of mescaline one must take weight into consideration as well, when the acids protonate the freebase it adds weight, depending on the acid the weights will vary, so when it comes to dosing mescaline salts one must remember this.

If you could be a little more specific it would be much easier to respond.

I've never gotten any nausea from any cacti.

I have consumed trichocereus cacti in the form of a decoction as well as simply eating the raw or dried cactus. This also goes for lophophora cacti.

I have also consumed total alkaloid extract from trichocereus as well as lophophora cacti.

I have also consumed pure mescaline extract in various salt forms, as well as synthetic mescaline produced from Vanillin obtained from common vanilla extract.

What would you like to know?
