Macs just run their own variant of BSD, a normally free OS (FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD) that Apple has the cheek to charge for... and they run it on the same hardware as PCs these days, so there's being a bit of a con-job perpetrated imo!

These days it seems that any OS that will run a decent web browser (most are standards-compliant except IE), email and OpenOffice does most of what is required by your average user, though Windoze is still the best platform by far for gamers. So if you're not worried about playing the latest games, or use a console for gaming, then there is oodles of choice out there nowadays!

If your not a gamer and have a decent box( not really but ALLWAYS a good idea) use Linux. Good Linux OS's out there, Mint 4 ,PClinuxOS my personal faves. I'd go with Mint 4 which is soon to be Mint 5, easy to unstall AND setup. Works pretty damn good, trust me. Wipe your drive completely....wait, D-load Linux first from Linux.com to your Winblows box and install. Not to many viruses written for Linux and it's all open source and continuosly being bettered by good programmers. Live CD's! D-load one of the ones from Linux.com and run it right over the top of Winblows and see if you like it or not.

Put the word 'Monster' in front of that truck now.
Who doesn't love a truck that crushes a large pile of PC's?

Sounds good to me so far. Also, do not upgrade to Firefox 3! A lot more buggy than it says in it's release notes.:disappointed:
