I'm new to cactus and I think lophophoras might be more sensitive than others. I just killed my only two growing l.diffusa and l.fricii. The diffusa was as big as my thumb to the 2nd bone. there went about 15 bucks out the window. They developed soft spots then rotten away. I think I shouldn't have watered them. they were kept in the house. My ariocarpus are tough as nails...When a cactus develops a fungus like I assume what happen to my mine, thanks to watering, the infected part is to be cut off. Alas too late.
