FDA has issued Import Alert for Kratom importation

Post by FrenchMachine » Tue Mar 04, 2014 3:57 pm

Seems like there is a possibility the FDA & US Customs are going to start seizing many Kratom shipments trying to enter the country. They have issued an official Import Alert on Feb. 28th and have added MANY overseas suppliers onto a blacklist. This is not good news for Kratom users. Stock up while you can or get some plants growing.

sssssssssssshhhhhhut the front door, are you serious???

omg!
(and yes, I just literally screamed)

My two best vendors have little blurbs about it on their sites...oh, no =(

I wonder how difficult it'd be to grow my own kratom in Colorado...

So is this a mandatory search and seizure for the international kratom vendors listed?
It reads more like a guideline or recommendation, but not mandatory?

The claims regarding kratom in the FDA article are blatantly wrong. Yes you CAN vomit. (One occurance in 7 years for me; although I had just wrecked my motorcycle so I ignorantly ingested 40 g crushed leaf. This would incite emesis in almost anyone I know. Esp when a thereaupitic dose is roughly 5 g, or less). I have experienced NO OTHER ADVERTS EFFECTS. In fact no negatives whatsoever in taking plain leaf to treat my chronic back pain for > 5 years.

I have declined and continue to decline Rx narcotics and surgery.

The rest of the report is garbage..although I'm not surprised. Simpletons usually talk/act first, and investigate later.
So innocence until proven guilty doesnt apply to plants.

Go ahead... confiscate my carrots..... because I might eat a big bag and puke.

Not going to kill the industry, but severely trim it back.

In some ways good, but in other ways bad.

With some of the BS advertising done with companies like Viozen and kratom being sold at every gas station, I could see that was not sustainable.

Maybe it will go more underground and still be legally available.

Yes, we boycotted the Kratom 8% product, because we eventually realized the two companies were connected. We took a big loss from stopping selling it, but we can never help the enemy.
