macromeria viridiflora and mullien

I saw an interesting looking plant in the forest and identified it-- here is what the folklore says: "The dried plant, combined with mullein (Verbascum species) has been smoked in the treatment of craziness and fits." That suggests anti-convulsive activity, so the risk I took in bioassaying this was...

Re: egg white ayahuasca question

well this has proven most interesting! I was planning on testing A. Confusa to confirm it's reputed activity sans mono amine oxidase inhibitor, and had previously found the level of tanic acid to be unpalatable. What happened when I heated the tea and added egg whites was unexpected-- most of the eg...

egg white ayahuasca question

I read that in some preparations where a lot of tanic acid and tannins were present, these could be removed by adding egg white. Is this done by cooking it like egg-drop soup, or just putting it in there and letting the acids cook it slowly like the well known vinegar science fair trick?

Re: Acacia Confusa solo

I was planning on assaying this myself, but got sidetracked by sciatica, requiring me to take pharmaceuticals that might interact, so my jar of acacia confusa sun tea remains in the fridge.

Re: Is Entada rheedii supposed to burn your throat?

So far, easier methods of ingestion did not get nearly the results I got from chewing the (very tough/crunchy) bean strait out of the pod. Encapsulating as much as a whole bean had not as much an effect as that first time with just a tiny part of one bean-- because the taste was so biting, I can onl...

Re: Siberian vs. Washington State Amanitas

I've had very high quality siberian and washington both and they are both impressive. My wife and I both think the washington is a bit more potent, others say siberians have less of a body load, but the washington specimens we get are the best ever, and are offered from my source at half the price o...
