N-3′-ethylaplysinopsin and related alkaloids

Smenospongia aurea is a fascinating marine organism which produces a fascinating array of indole alkaloids, all with many potentials. 6-bromo-2'-de-N-methylaplysinopsin and N-3′-ethylaplysinopsin particularly piqued my interest. A new indole alkaloid, N-3′-ethylaplysinopsin (68), isolated from the J...

Voynich plant speculations

I have reviewed botanists speculations relating actual plant features to plants in the Voynich manuscript, often giving an identification, and I was less than thrilled with the results. I understand that these plant images were likely fictional, well, nobody really knows what they are, but that they...

Re: Growing San Pedro from seed

I'm happy to post. Though since I am unsure if the original poster is still interested, I will copy and paste from another source: Growing Seedlings 1 Check every few days to see if seed is germinating. Lift the plastic wrap to mist the top of the potting mix occasionally. Do not let the soil dry ou...

Re: Growing San Pedro from seed

I might be able to help.

This site at the moment appears to be quite low traffic, (that's kind of what I like about it)though if you still need the information I'm here to help.

Awareness of plants and fungi (consciousness in nature)

I had a very bizarre experience recently... I was in Hawaii, and in our botanical garden there is a very large dead tree, and one limb of this tree sticks for out over the land, and Banisteriopsis caapi, a large hallucinogenic south American vine is planted at the bottom of this tree, and it just h...

Re: How to get etheogens recognized as religious tools in US

Technically, in the United states, the first amendment guarantees freedom of religious practice, and if entheogens are a piece of your religious practice, then constitutionally you already have the right to consume them... It seems repugnant that we must convince the modern system to grant us rights...

Re: Medical Marijuana?

I apologize, in my state cannabis is legal for medical and recreational use, and as a result I have become very relaxed openly discussing the topic, and often forget that in certain situations that this may be inappropriate.
