Re: Lophophoras Help -

OK, here's another exception to the shallow pot rule: Ariocarpus species also have a fat taproot just like peyote. Both remind me of little green icebergs, most of the plant's bulk is below ground. Definitely don't worry about the spots, unless they are soft. If they are soft and begin to spread to...

Re: Curious about ' Fiberglass Window Screening' At bottom of pots -

We {wife and I} must use it around here, as in our geographical area there are lots of woodlouse and earwigs - that can cause a real hassle if they nest up in the base of your pots - and they absolutely will! without fail, if you do not take measures to prevent it. Its a real pain in the ass, also w...

Otherwise you run the risk of contam in your flats or pots - and if you sterilize the soil yourself - you MUST make sure it doesnt exceed the reccomended temerature for sterilization {I dont remember offhand exactly - google it} b...

Michael Im glad you found a copy so you could comment - I used the foremost authority as sort of a toungue and cheek sly retort to the tone of your article - I did it playfully however, not in any way to detract from your intelligence and study in this area, and I am in awe of your knowledge base co...

Re: Lophophora Diffusa, the subtle peyote brother -

Just my luck - when I make an assertion, the Foremost Authority on psychedelic cactus jumps in to lay the smackdown on me! I wont pretend to tell you Mr Smith - what is what in the cactus world - thats for sure - I took information from the edition of Kaktusy mentioned and assumed it to hav...

Re: Lophophora Diffusa, the subtle peyote brother -

The fact is that Lophophora Diffusa/& var {i.e. koerhesii, fricci} has a very different chemical alkaloidal composition than Lophophora williamsii, the critical and most pronouced difference being the balance of mescaline/pellotine in wild specimens, whereas the mescaline content of wild Loph.will/&...
